NETHY BRIDGE...Welcome to Speyside's Forest Village |
Nethy Bridge nestles in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains, in the Highlands of Scotland. It is steeped in the history of the Highlands and remains a superb and inspiring location. |
The River Nethy, a tributary of the River Spey, flows through the centre of the village. Close by is the Abernethy Forest, containing a large section of what remains of the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest. |
A short distance from Nethy Bridge is the RSPB’s world famous Abernethy Forest Reserve and Osprey Centre at Loch Garten. Once extinct in Scotland, the Osprey has now made a strong recovery here on Speyside. |
Nethy
Bridge and the surrounding area offers a wide range of sports and
activities including golf, fishing, tennis, winter skiing, horse-riding,
hill walking, water sports, swimming and gliding. |
Speyside is home to some of the world’s most famous whiskies. Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas, Macallan, Cardu and many other distilleries are close at hand. |
Local places of interest include Inverness & Loch Ness, the Moray Firth and Royal Deeside. Heritage sites include Culloden Battlefield, Elgin Cathedral, Pluscarden Abbey, Brodie Castle and Fort George. |
